Latvian Academy of Art and the SEB Bank have been bound by ties of friendship for several years now, during which time a number of talented, creative and passionate artists – Neonilla Medvedeva, Atis Jākobsons, Zane Tuča, Laimdota Steķe, Klāvs Loris, Madara Neikena and Zīle Ziemele – have had an opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful European cities for creative enrichment as part of the SEB Scholarship in Painting project.

A retrospective of future is as impossible as capturing the direction and speed of an artist’s creative thought; however, this exhibition is an opportunity to stop time, if only for a brief moment, and embrace the sense of today as expressed by the young artists, with the viewer single-handedly initiating the dimension of a vision of the future of painting.
